Maggie Kearns
Maggie was someone who genuinely cared about others, was always unapologetically herself and inspired so many people with her determination and perseverance to follow her dreams.

Despite her Crohn's Diagnosis her senior year of high school, she excelled in her education by graduating high school and studying engineering at Cal Poly in California, and University of Illinois. Not once did she let this disease stop her.

She died at the tender age of 19 from a blood clot and stroke. Her family and community wanted to remember Maggie through generosity. She valued education and Maggie had donated to organizations that supported the poor of Africa. The Maggie Kearns Foundation for Kibera provides scholarships and long term opportunities for young people in Kenya. This is one way we honor the spirit of Maggie Kearns by making this world a better place.
